SEYMOUR RUNNING CLUB COMMITTEE

Meet the locals behind the Seymour Running Club

2024-25 Executive

  • Blair Collins (President)

Blair Collins was elected the inaugural President of the Seymour Running Club, bringing to the committee strong business acumen and a passion for running. He's completed seven marathons with more to come and is a member of Mitchell Runners, a social running group within the Mitchell Shire.

Day to day, Blair is the Operations Manager at Seymour and Nagambie Equine and Rural, having previously held senior management positions with multinational companies.

Blair is passionate about supporting the pathway for young athletes from Little Athletics to the VAL, keeping people engaged and active.

Blair is looking to establish the Seymour Gift as a premier event on the VAL calendar. While not focusing on this goal, you'll find him running, caravanning around the country, supporting the mighty Tigers or enjoying an Australian true crime book.

  • Peter Elliott (Treasurer)

The Seymour Running Club is committed to delivering the Seymour Gift as a financially sustainable event for many years to come, which is where our Treasurer, Peter Elliott comes in.

Pete has great experience in finance, having been a finance broker for the past twenty years, successfully running his business based in Seymour.

Pete was involved in Little Athletics through his children and with basketball in Seymour for two decades, holding numerous positions including President and Treasurer. He is a premiership player at the Seymour Football Netball Club and is currently Assistant Coach of the Reserves team.

Pete is most looking forward to holding a Seymour Gift that promotes the community and town and is well received by stakeholders.

When not helping out sporting clubs, you’ll find Pete cheering on his beloved Bombers.

2024-25 General Committee

  • Glenn Barry (Sponsorship Manager)

Our Sponsorship Manager Glenn Barry brings great professional experience to the committee alongside a passion for athletics and local sport.

Glenn’s daughter Olivia is part of the Kelfit stable, with Glenn loving following the crew around the state as they compete in the Victorian Athletic League (VAL). He’s witnessed firsthand the incredible development of the Kelfit team and is excited to throw his support behind the Seymour Running Club.

For the past nine years, Glenn has been the Rural Business Development Manager and Partner at Seymour and Nagambie Equine & Rural. He previously worked as a territory manager for a large multi-national animal health company and spent time with Country Racing Victoria as a Sales & Marketing Executive for a group of five country clubs, including the Seymour Racing Club.

Glenn’s vision for the Club is to establish the Seymour Gift as one of the most successful events on the VAL calendar, for the Club to be financially stable and to encourage people of all ages and abilities to become more active and connected with the community.

When not following his three daughters in their various sporting endeavors, you’ll find Glenn tending to his small farm and cattle breeding enterprise.

  • Jacqui Anderson

Jacqui Anderson is another member of the Seymour Running Club committee with a strong connection to the Kelfit crew.

Kelvin Lubeck has coached Jacqui’s three children since they started Little Athletics and coaches Hayden Anderson to this day in the VAL.

Jacqui has been heavily involved in the local sporting landscape for many years, through Little Athletics, netball, football and dancing. Currently, Jacqui runs her own business in Nagambie, The Corner Nook, which focuses on unique homewares and gifts.

She is confident the Seymour Gift will be back with a bang this year and is looking forward to working with the committee and supporters to deliver a fantastic event.

  • Shaun Bryans

Shaun is somewhat new to the athletics scene but with a young daughter who is tearing up the track, Shaun is invested in seeing a strong track athletics community built in Seymour.

Shaun lives in Broadford and works in defence locally, while being involved in netball clubs and Seymour Little Athletics.

He has seen the immense impact the Kelfit team has had on the sport and is eager to support the Seymour Gift as it becomes an annual event.

  • Dylan Cook

Dylan Cook has been a strong supporter of the Kelfit team since they formed a few years ago, having trained with and followed the athletes throughout each season.

Dylan is excited by the opportunity to be involved with the Seymour Running Club, helping people promote the sport while working with individuals passionate about building a marquee event into the VAL calendar in the form of the Seymour Gift.

Outside of his commitments to the Club, Dylan currently works for JBE Tree Services, does volunteer work for Essendon Football Club’s women’s program and volunteers with the Seymour Football Netball Club, having previously played VFL football.

  • Joel Durham

Joel joined the Seymour Running Club with a passion for establishing the Seymour Gift as a sustainable, annual event for the benefit of the community.

He was involved in Little Athletics and has maintained a passion for sport ever since, heavily involved at the Seymour Football Netball Club as a player over a long period of time.

Day to day, Joel is a recruitment consultant and is a Co-Owner of Go Dynamic Group.

  • Stephen Garner

Stephen Garner is another local with decades of connection to community sport.

For the past four decades Stephen has been a Physical Education teacher and Sports Coordinator, mainly at Seymour College. His children were involved in Little Athletics in town which allowed him to connect with likeminded people and discuss fitness and athletics which subsequently blended into other sporting passions.

Stephen is no stranger to high performance pathways, having been the fitness advisor for the Murray Bushrangers for a decade. Alongside this, he has been involved at the Avenel Tennis Club, Tabilk Junior Football Netball Club, Seymour Football Netball Club and the Seymour Little Athletics Club.

Stephen was eager to be involved with the Seymour Running Club, coming with a high level of respect for Kelvin Lubeck who approached him about joining the committee.

Stephen wants to see the Seymour Gift become an annual event that showcases the great facilities at Kings Park, provides a home track for local athletes and inspires others to get involved in track athletics and sport more broadly.

  • Cooper Lubeck

Cooper Lubeck is no stranger to the Victorian Athletic League (VAL) nor putting in huge performances on the biggest of stages, having taken home the 800m sash at Stawell earlier in the year.

This sits proudly amongst many other victories across the VAL in what has been a great start to his career as a middle-distance runner.

With a passion for track athletics, Cooper was excited to throw all his effort behind bringing back the Seymour Gift and a home meet for the promising Kelfit athletes.

Cooper has experience at a committee level within the local sporting community, having joined the Seymour Racing Club Board earlier this year.

He’s followed in his father’s footsteps, plying his trade as a plumber during the week, while turning out for the Seymour Lions throughout the winter months.

  • Kelvin Lubeck

Kelvin Lubeck is the proud Trainer of the Kelfit stable, competing in the Victorian Athletic League (VAL) and has put track athletics on the map for the Seymour community.

His passion for track athletics is in no small part responsible for the formation of the Seymour Running Club and the goal of bringing back the Seymour Gift. He’s recently been recognised as the VAL’s Trainer of the Year, a massive accolade for a highly talented coach.

We’re excited to have Kelvin’s local knowledge on our committee. Not only is he one of the leading plumbers in the region, he’s been involved at the Seymour Racing Club, Seymour Football Netball Club, Eastern Hill Cricket Club and the Seymour Golf Club.

Athletics is in Kelvin’s blood. His father was the founding member of the Seymour Little Athletics Club in 1968 and he’s coached runners for the past two decades.

Kelvin remembers watching the Seymour Gift at Kings Park as a child and has dreamt that it might happen again. With Kelfit proving a phenomenon in the VAL, the time is right to bring a Gift back to Seymour.

His ambitious goal is for the Seymour Gift to be the biggest meet on the calendar by 2040. We can’t wait to work towards this goal.

  • Rob D'Orria

Rob D’Orria is the man behind the magnificent Kings Park surface, ensuring the Seymour Gift will be held on a fantastic running track.

Rob is the Owner and Director of Countrywide Turf Solutions, Regional Weed Control and TMP (Turf Machinery Parts).

Outside of this Rob is involved in the community with the Kings Park Committee of Management and the Seymour Performers Work Shop.

He is eager to see the Seymour Gift become an annual event, held in high regard across the athletics community.
